Owasco Gives Back. This is our community.

Our Owasco team is from all over the Durham Region! We don't just work in this community, we live in it. We have been connected to this community for years. They are our friends, our family, our neighbours and they have been for 50 years. Our team is what makes us so successful! Lakeridge Health

Owasco is proud to support the Lakeridge Health Foundation, and has done so for many years through fundraising initiatives and community involvement supporting our local hospitals.

We believe investing in healthcare is investing in our community -- helping attract and retain the best doctors, surgeons, nurses, and healthcare professionals for the people who live here. We live here, we play here, and we receive care here.

Ride for the Ridge

Owasco once again proudly participated in the Ride for the 'Ridge charity bike ride with a team of approximately 20 riders made up of staff, family, and community members. Together, we raised over $25,000 in support of local healthcare initiatives.

Despite the rain, spirits were high and everyone had a great time coming together for a meaningful cause. In addition to riding, we were also proud to sponsor a family fun zone featuring a jumping castle, face painting, a balloon artist, and other activities designed to engage and encourage more community participation.

DRIVE 4 DOLLARS

Owasco has proudly participated for many years in the Drive 4 Dollars campaign in support of our local hospitals. Through this initiative, during a week, a portion of every vehicle purchased is directed toward funding critical medical equipment and resources where they are needed most.

It's a simple but powerful way to turn everyday vehicle purchases into meaningful support for local healthcare, helping ensure our hospitals are equipped to care for the community.

Springfest / Winterfest

At Owasco, we believe in giving back to the community and creating events that bring families together. That's why we proudly host our annual Springfest at Owasco RV Centre and our annual Winterfest at Owasco Volkswagen.

Both events attract large crowds of families from across the community for a day of free fun, entertainment, and activities for all ages. In addition to creating memorable experiences, these events also help raise funds in support of the Lakeridge Health Foundation and our local hospitals. We have raised thousands of dollars at these events.

Lakeridge Health Gala

The annual Lakeridge Health Foundation Gala Committee truly hit the road to drive the 2019 Gala towards success. On November 2, 2019, honoured guests were welcomed into a glamourous, transformed space with Owasco RV Centre as the 2019 unique venue for another memorable Gala.

With support from attendees, the 2019 Gala raised over $294,000 for cancer care at Lakeridge Health. Thank you to everyone who came together to support this vital cause for our Durham Region community.

COVID-19 Support

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Owasco wanted to do its part to support frontline healthcare workers and the community. We provided motorhomes to local hospitals for doctors and nurses to use, helping offer a safe and comfortable space during an incredibly challenging time.

We believed everyone needed to come together and support one another, and keeping our doctors, nurses, and their families safe was a top priority. It was one small way we could give back to those who were giving so much to our community every day.

Colleges & Universities

Owasco is a proud supporter of Durham College, Ontario Tech University, and Trent University. We believe in investing in the future by supporting the next generation of talent and innovation.

We provide student sponsorships, participate in Program Advisory Committees, offer co-op placements, sponsor competitions and events, and create meaningful opportunities for students to gain real-world experience. We're also proud to have many alumni from these institutions as part of the Owasco team.

Local Community Sports & Recreation

Owasco is proud to support local community centres that encourage sports, recreation, and active living throughout the Durham Region. We sponsor hockey arenas at Iroquois Park Sports Centre and Delpark Homes Centre, helping provide spaces where families, athletes, and community members can come together.

Over the years, Owasco has also proudly supported many local sports teams and community programs, reinforcing our commitment to giving back to the communities we serve.

First Responders

Owasco is proud to give back to first responders and support them in meaningful ways whenever possible. We have sponsored police training events, offer exclusive programs and discounts for first responders, and regularly invite them to participate in our community events to help strengthen relationships and raise public awareness of their important work.
